Goal Statement: Bolder Options' Running Program mentors foster postive changes in their adolescent youth's lives through goal-setting, self-discipline, and athletic skill development.
Target Youth: In Bolder Options, we work with adolescents who are involved with the juvenile justice system. The boys in the Running Program live in residential treatment programs and are between the ages of 13-18.
Mentor Responsibilities:
  • 12 hours per month from January-July
  • Workout with youth at least once a week
  • Group activities (road races, ropes course, etc)
  • Mentor training and support meetings
Objective: Youth who complete Bolder Options’ Running Program will have increased self-efficacy, stronger trust in adults, goal-directed competency in athletics, and a new friend.
